History

A team of researchers in the areas of Chemistry,Physiscs, Biology, and Mineralogy is engaged is engaged since 2003 in a project on "Nanostructured Interfaces and Surfaces". Initially funded by the Ministy of Education and Research, the project has developed into an independent "scaffold" for interdisciplinary research at the Torino University. Nanotechnology of surfaces has a profound impact on a variety of technological fields ranging from structural materials to biological systems, catalysis, energy systems, electronics and many others. The Centre is committed to pursuing basic research and offering applied research services. As a recognized independent body within the University of Turin, the Centre has the mission of fostering interdisciplinarity and innovation both in science and its management, serving the affiliated Departments and representing the University of Torino in interdisciplinary scientific networks.
